Student Advisory Committee Leadership
Advisory Committee Chairperson
Since Fall 2019, I have done more than 200 hours of volunteer service, this included working with various organizations around campus. Oftentimes I was working along with a group of students and was working to solve the existing issues. One such event that I was very often a part of was at the Falling Run Greenspace, at the Greenspace, I am a crew leader and the space there is more than 60 acres.
The space required new trails that had to be built for the community and most of the old ones required work. Along with mostly new members each time, I worked to complete the work while keeping in mind that everyone was safe.
Curiosity: As a Student Well-being Ambassador for WellWVU, I along with other ambassadors thought of different innovative ways to increase the involvement of students and staff across campus at our events and when we did an event in the spring semester, we had organizations from all over campus and also a large body of students who got to learn about handling mental stress while also drawing on blank canvases and playing spin wheel trivia.
Respect: As a Diversity Ambassador for the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at WVU, I have worked on several programs that were dedicated to address and teach students and staff about the issues of inequality and social, racial and economic justice. Also as a Resident Assistant, I always encourage all my students to be aware of Title IX and other information that is around campus.
Accountability: I have been engaged with WellWVU as an Ambassador for 2 of its programs since Fall 2019, and have been at most of the events to help inform students on various topics such as sexual health, mental health, and much more. Also, I have been associated with the WVU Red Cross Club since Fall 2018 and now I serve as the Vice President for the club.
Appreciation: I have interacted with hundreds of students during tabling events and big
events such as Sexual Health Fair and other events. I have also worked in almost every
residence hall at WVU Morgantown campus in some capacity to inform students so that they
can seek help when necessary and also so that they feel free to talk about any issue that is
troubling them. As a Resident Assistant as well, I have been helping students with multiple

Wheeling, West Virginia born and raised, I am Amelia Jones and I will be a junior in the upcoming 2019-2020 academic year. With aspirations of becoming a high school English teacher, I am majoring in English with minors in Theater and German. I always like to keep myself busy with extra-curricular activities such as participating in the WVU Calliope Literary Journal Editorial Staff, volunteering as a Mountaineer Guide, Sigma Tau Delta member, National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) member, and Chimes Honorary member. When I am not out and about on campus you can usually find me playing the piano, getting lost in a good book, or drinking copious amounts of coffee! I am so excited to serve as the Co-Chair for the Student Service Advisory Board and help every Mountaineer #GoFirst in service. Be helpful, be kind, and be a friend!
