Social Action Showcase
The Center for Service and Learning invites students to highlight work they have conducted that has engaged with the community for positive social change. We host this showcase at the end of spring and fall semesters and look forward to seeing the fantastic community engaged work our students have been involved in!
Winter 2019 Showcase Winners
- 1st Place - Megan Mikesell - The specific goal of this project was to explore skills that WV teachers say they need to deal with the impact of the opioid epidemic in their classrooms.
- 2nd Place - Team led by Rachael Dodaro - One of 5 teams helping the WV Department of Agriculture optimize their current process of storing and distributing food to all schools in the state.
- 3rd Place - Rachel Wattick - M4R2: Mountaineers for Recovery and Resilience was conducted as a partnership between WVU Collegiate Recovery and the Lifestyle Intervention Research Lab beginning in 2017. The goal of this project was to implement nutrition and culinary therapy into WVU Collegiate Recovery in addition to their other therapeutic offerings.
