Internal Grant Opportunities

The CSL will award 2 ACE mini-grants of $1,000 each to support service-learning initiatives. Service-learning instructors must apply in conjunction with an official CSL community/campus partner organization. Proposals will outline how the initiative will meet a community identified need while incorporating high quality service-learning for the students involved.  View evaluation rubric.

Community Engagement grants, formerly known as Public Service grants, are designed to stimulate and support community outreach and engagement projects that benefit the citizens of West Virginia and are available to faculty members. Funding from this program is intended to encourage development of additional support for these projects from other sources in the future as well as scholarly output. The committee will not fund the same project more than once. Funding is provided from the Provost’s Office.

Funding Deadline: February 10, 2020.  Period of Performance: July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021

External Grant Opportunities

Local non-profits such as schools, after school programs, churches, homeless shelters, food pantries, and community organizations are eligible to receive up to $600 to host a healthy start project for families and youth in their community. Eligible projects include community events and activities focused on a healthy start, as well as feeding programs, backpack programs, events, and outreach. Activities must include an element of volunteer recruitment as well as outreach in the community. 

Applications for the West Virginia’s Promise Healthy Start Mini-Grant Project will be accepted between August 12th, 2019 -October 7th, 2019 to be considered for funding. Funds must be spent by January 31, 2020.
